If you've not already put up your Christmas decorations, then the first weekend in December is National Put Your Decorations Up Weekend and is officially the most popular weekend to do so. Here, we've revealed how you can decorate your whole house, from the outside in.

The Roof

What's the first thing people see when they are driving past or pulling up to your house? Your roof and your guttering! Make this area look super festive with some stunning outdoor Christmas lighting. Icicle lights are always a firm favourite and look stunning around the roof of your home.

For something a little different you could also attach some acrylic figures to the roof or aim a projector at this area of your house for some festive shapes.

The Front Door

The front door is sometimes neglected but this is a space you can make really Christmassy and fun. Some people like to wrap their front door in ribbon or a huge bow, but if you prefer something more delicate and subtle then an artificial Christmas wreath is perfect.

We prefer artificial wreaths to real wreaths because they will last the whole season without dying or losing foliage.

The Windows

Your windows are the perfect area for a Christmas display because you can enjoy the decorations whether you are indoors or outdoors. Some great ideas for a window display include a miniature artificial Christmas tree with a fake snow bedding, cluster lights wrapped around your window frame and LED candles or smaller figures.

A Feature Wall

Your hallway or dining room is the ideal place for a feature wall. For a feature wall you want to have something big and bold like an LED heart or star or perhaps a light-up reindeer head. These statement pieces should be bright and bold and therefore can get away with being the only decoration in this room.

Your Stairwell

Wrap your bannisters in beautiful cluster lights and keep your Christmas decor flowing all the way through the house. If you don't have a bannister suitable for wrapping lights around, then you can run your lights along the wall or even use the same idea as your feature wall with LED hearts and stars up the stairs.

A Tree for Every Room

One Christmas tree just isn't enough! You can have a Christmas tree in every room, including the dining room, living room and your bedroom. You could even have a miniature tree in the bathroom.

A Christmas tree is the most festive decoration and will make every tree feel seasonal and fun, so we say the more the better, especially as with so many styles of tree including mini and slim trees you can fit one into every spot.
